Alan Juárez

Originally from Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico, he graduated of the Bachelor of Music with a major in classical guitar at Centro Morelense de las Artes in 2008 with the highest average of his generation under the tutelage of the Teacher Ildefonso Sosa. During his training he received courses in interpretive style and refinement from the teachers: Antonio Corona, Arturo Márquez, Juan Carlos Laguna (Mexico), Eduardo Garrido (Spain) and Leo Brouwer (Cuba). He has attended master classes with: Máximo Diego Pujol, Eduardo Isaac (Argentina), Pavel Steild (Czech Republic), Rémi Boucher (Canada), Carlos Perez (Chile), Berta Rojas (Paraguay), Goran Krivokapic (Montenegro), and Martín Pedreira (Cuba) among others. 

He has performed at various venues and festivals such as: Festival Internacional de Guitarra de Taxco 2010 (Taxco, México), 6° Festival Internacional de Guitarra Guitarromanía 2011(Colima, México), XXIV Festival Internacional de Música Contemporánea de la Habana, XVII Modelo de las NacionesUnidas de la Habana “HAVMUN 2012” (La Havana, Cuba), Teatro del Centro de Bellas Artes Juan L. Outstanding composers from Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, Thailand, Vietnam, France, Italy, England, Poland and Greece have dedicated works for guitar to him. Recently he was selected by the Hong Kong Shenzen International Guitar Festival to give master classes and concerts at the 6th Hong Kong Shenzen International Guitar Festival 2021, being the first Latin American to make his debut at the prestigious festival in Asia. He is one of the artists of the Iberian and Latin American Music Society in London, United Kingdom. He is the winner of the 2007 State Youth Award, proclaimed in 2013 Distinguished Visitor, as Classical Guitarist of Mexico in Puerto Rico by the government of that country and Certified in 2015 Distinguished Visitor, as Classical Guitarist of Mexico in Costa Rica, awarded by the Universidad La Salle of Costa Rica. He was given the two highest distinctions of the Republic of Paraguay: "Distinguished Visitor" and "Illustrious Visitor of the City", being the first Mexican to receive both honors from the Government of Misiones, Paraguay. He was awarded as "Distinguished Man of the State of Morelos, Mexico in the edition of Book 2018". He is currently recording his first album called "Que lo Diga la Luna" and is a Professor at the Dance and Music Theater School of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos UAEM, Lecturer and Artistic Director of the Cuernavaca International Guitar Cycle, Cuernavaca National Guitar Competition and General Director of the Cuernavaca International Guitar Festival, Mexico.
